Every year in March many schools and libraries across the country celebrate Reading Awareness Month. There are many events and activities planned to celebrate reading and to encourage children to make reading a daily habit.

I talk a lot about reading with your kids and its importance here on the blog. That’s because research has shown that reading aloud to your kids is the single most effective thing you can do to prepare your child for learning how to read.
