Books for One Year Olds

One of my favorite things to do with my kids is to read with them. All three of them absolutely love books! Between birthdays and holidays and trips to the bookstore, we have a ton of books. There is a basket of books in almost every room in our house. Today I am sharing our favorite books for one year olds.

OUR FAVORITE BOOKS FOR ONE YEAR OLDS

At this age, interactive board books are a lot of fun. Audrey loves books with flaps or popups and books with different textures. Here are a few of our favorites:

Lift the Flap Books:

Pop Up Books:

Touch and Feel Books:

These Pop-Up Peekaboo books are Audrey’s current favorite! I love how excited she gets when she pulls the flap down and sees the animal or object pop up. In the Pop-Up Peekaboo Farm book, she squeals and the immediately kisses the animal! It’s the sweetest! We are also using this book to teach her animal sounds. I love her little puppy bark! So adorable!

Reading with your child is so important and has so many benefits. I wrote a post about this over at North Phoenix Mom’s Blog if you want to know more of the benefits.

One of the most important things to remember about reading with your kids- enjoy this time with your child. Don’t stress too much about your baby sitting still for the entire book or reading every page. Make this time fun for you and your baby and encourage a love for reading.

There are so many great books for one year olds available. Which book does your child like best? We are always looking for new books so send me your recommendations, please!

Thank you this amazing list of books for one-year-olds. It sometimes seems hard to find really good books these days for one-year-olds or any kid that is on at the age of four. I am happy to see that curious George still remains on the list.
