FIVE! How in the world is it possible my baby is 5?!
Noah you are no longer “four and a half” as you like to tell absolutely EVERY person you meet- you are now officially five. years. old! I am not sure how that happened so darn fast. You have grown so much this past year. I didn’t realize just how much has changed until I started looking for photos and videos for this post. Listening to your sweet voice on videos from just one year ago, seeing your chubby “baby” hands and fingers thin out, seeing your shirts become a little too short & your shoes getting a little snug- you have definitely grown, my son. I am very excited for you to be five & I’ll tell you all about that in a minute- but right now, mommy’s heart is sad.
Time goes way too fast, bud.
You have become a very independent boy. You can fill your water cup by yourself and get yourself a snack. You want to at least try to do everything by yourself first but you still ask for my help when you need it.
You are the sweetest boy. You have the biggest heart and absolutely adore your friends and family. You are so social and make friends everywhere you go. Because of your huge heart, you are very quick to include your brother in whatever you and your new friends are doing.
You are outgoing and fun and absolutely love to laugh and make people laugh. I love that. But I also love that you are still quite sensitive. You feel for others when they are hurt or sad. You allow yourself to be sad when you feel sad and are able to express the feelings and emotions you have. I hope you continue this. It’s important to feel & understand our emotions.
I knew you would love being a big brother and you have proven me 100% right! You cannot get enough of your sister and you are such a great helper! You want to be involved in everything we are doing with Audrey and you have to be in every photo we take of her! I can’t wait to see how this bond strengthens as you both get older.
You and Connor have also developed a stronger relationship this past year. It makes Mommy & Daddy so happy to see the two of you play together. I get the biggest smile on my face when I hear you two laughing together. You two also fight. A LOT. Some days it feels like there is more fighting than playing. I know this is hard but I want you two to remember something- you only have each other. You will be brothers forever. Love each other. Protect each other. Talk and confide in each other. There will be things you wont want to tell Mommy and Daddy. My hope is you will have a solid relationship with Connor so that you can go to him for help. (Oh, and PLEASE stop scratching him!!!! PLEASE!)
You love school and ask me every day if you can stay at school until dinner time. I am so happy you love school so much. You are so smart and have even started reading! You love to skip-count by 2’s & 5’s and you also really enjoy making crafts. I can’t believe we registered you for Kindergarten already. I am so excited to see all you will learn.
You are THE busiest child I have ever met. From the moment your eyes open in the morning until they close at night- you are non stop! I tell people all of the time; you’re just like a puppy. If I don’t get you out of the house at least once a day, you become destructive. You love to ride your scooter or bike and you are learning how to skateboard. You love to run and play catch. Just being outside is your favorite!
You have a sweet tooth just like your daddy & if you could you would have “bah-sketti” every night for dinner! You love watermelon and would eat only watermelon all summer long if you were allowed.
Noah, you are so much fun and have filled our home with so much laughter. You say some of the craziest things (I really need to write them down!). You are so sweet and make me proud daily! I love being your mommy and I am so thankful that you still allow me to call you “baby”.
Happy 5th Birthday, baby. I love you!
