What is KiwiCo

KiwiCo is a monthly subscription box for kids that includes fun projects for creating and learning. Crates vary by interest (science & tinkering, art & design, geography & culture, and early learning) and age so you’ll be sure to find a box for everyone!

For Audrey, we chose the Koala Crate. The Koala Crate is a preschool learning and creating box for kids ages 2-4. The boxes are themed and delivered monthly. In the Koala Crate, your child will get all the supplies needed to create 2 or 3 projects. They also include a helpful parent guide with illustrated instructions and other fun ways to play and learn about the monthly theme.

Audrey’s first Koala Crate was rainbow-themed! Included in the box was everything she needed to “create a stained glass landscape using colorful squares and cut-out shapes of mountains and trees. Explore color-mixing by designing and dyeing a rainbow tote bag. Stuff and fluff a cloud pillow, covering it with colorful felt stickers arranged into the shape of . . . a rainbow!”

I find the Koala Crate to be age-appropriate for Audrey at this time. She needs just a small amount of help from me with some aspects of the projects but can do the majority of it on her own. I can tell she feels empowered when she is able create (mostly) on her own.

KIWICO CRATE OPTIONS

KiwiCo isn’t just for toddlers. There are so many fun subscription options for older kids, too. KiwiCo is the original science and art crate for kids ages 5-8. Doodle Crate is an art and design box for kids ages 9-16 and the Maker Crate is a more advanced art and design box for older kids, 14-104. The newest, Yummy Crate sounds like so much fun. From the website, “Yummy Crate was designed to foster a love for science and cooking in kids ages 6 to 14, with recipes and activities that explore hands-on experimentation in and out of the kitchen. Your monthly crate includes delicious family-friendly recipes that teach kitchen skills and explore the science of cooking.” I can think of many kids who would love this one. The Eureka Crate was created for future inventors and engineers ages 12-104. Past Eureka Crate projects include an electric pencil sharpener and wooden ukulele! So cool, right?!

KIWICO SUBSCRIPTION

KiwiCo Subscriptions are very easy to manage. Prices vary depending on the crate you choose and the plan that works best for your budget. You can purchase monthly, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months at a time. It’s very easy to cancel or pause a subscription if needed. And, I love that KiwiCo doesn’t lock you into a specific crate. You can start with one crate and switch to another at anytime.

KIWICO STORE

Make sure you also check out the KiwiCo Strore. Here you can purchase holiday-themed crates, single crates, and sale items.
