Having my kids home from school for Christmas break is so nice. We all really enjoy the break from the busy school routine. But it can also be a bit stressful for me to fill our days with activities that keep my kids happy and off electronics. If you’re in the same boat as me heading into Christmas break, I got you! Today, I am sharing a really fun and incredibly easy winter playdate idea with Dunkin’. This donut decorating playdate takes very minimal planning and will accommodate kids of all ages. WINTER PLAYDATE IDEA WITH DUNKIN’
SUPPLIES:
This playdate requires very little prep. You can make it as simple or as extravagant as you wish. I planned for something in the middle. At the very least, to decorate the donuts you will need:
A couple dozen powdered and plain Dunkin’ donuts
25 Munchkins Donut Holes
Frosting
Sprinkles
Disposable table cloth
Wrapping paper
Disposable plates
Disposable knives and toothpicks for decorating. Popsicle sticks will work, too.
And don’t forget a Box O’ Joe for the moms! Very, very important! 😉
SET UP:
Before everyone arrived, I covered the table with a disposable plastic table cloth. Then, I cut festive wrapping paper into large squares to make placemats for each of the kids. I set a disposable plate and a small cup of frosting & a small cup of sprinkles at each place setting. I placed the donuts and munchkins donut holes in bowls on the table to allow the kids to pick the donuts they wanted to decorate.
PLAY:
Initially, my idea was to have the kids make Snowmen Donuts by stacking a couple of powdered munchkins donut holes onto a powdered donut. Some of the kids liked that idea and some of the kids had their own plan. Either way was totally fine! Let the kids get creative and decide how they want their donut decorated.
It can be hard to find a playdate activity that will accommodate a group of kids of different ages. So I think this activity is especially great because it works for a wide range of ages. Our group of kids ranged from 2 to 9 years old and they were all able to participate and have fun together.
I also love that other than setting up and a few requests here and there, there wasn’t a ton of participation required of the moms. The kids were able to decorate their donuts together and the moms were able to drink our coffee and chat. I’d call that a playdate win for everyone!
CLEAN UP:
Guys, this was the fastest cleanup ever! I purposefully used mostly all disposable materials so that when the kids were finished decorating and eating their donuts, all I had to do was wrap up all the decorating materials in the disposable table cloth and throw it into the trash. Boom. Done! So, so simple!
I really love how easy and simple this winter playdate idea with Dunkin’ was. From a super simple set up to an even easier cleanup, I promise you, this will be the easiest playdate you ever host!
I want to make sure you get a chance to host your own Dunkin’ playdate this winter so I am giving away two $25 Dunkin’ gift cards! Head over to Instagram for all of the details.
