Since then, our family has really been enjoying using the book as a tool to help us connect with each other in ways we wouldn’t typically think of. THE ADVENTURE CHALLENGE SOLO EDITION
If you aren’t familiar with how The Adventure Challenge works, let me show you.
The Adventure Challenge is a keepsake book filled with 50 surprise scratch-off adventures you have most likely never done before. They have created books with unique adventures for couples, family, friends, and even a solo edition. No matter which book you choose, they all have the same goal: explore outside of your preferred activities, form deeper connections, and create lasting memories.
Choose an Adventure.
Above each scratch-off adventure, you will see icons that will give you an idea of how much money the adventure will cost (some are free & some cost up to $50 but all adventures can be modified to fit your budget) when to do the challenge, and how much time the adventure should take. Some challenges have additional icons to give additional hints like if you’ll need to buy supplies, if you should do the adventure indoors or outdoors, if you’ll get messy, or if you need time to plan ahead.
Skip around the book and choose an adventure title that sounds exciting and fits within your budget and time frame. The biggest thing to remember is after you scratch off the adventure there are no takebacks! You have to do it. So be sure to check out the icons for hints before scratching off the adventure because once you scratch it off, you’re committing to that adventure.
Complete the Challenge.
You’ve scratched off your challenge, now let the fun begin! My challenge was to bring out my inner Vincent Van Gogh. I was challenged to gather art supplies, turn on music, open a patio door or window, and paint.
The challenge I chose has the grocery cart icon next to it indicating I’d most likely need to run to the store for supplies. Since I was staying in a hotel for the weekend, I definitely didn’t have these items on hand.
I made a quick Target run and purchased the supplies I needed: an easel, paint, brushes, and a couple of canvases to paint on. When I got back to my room, I put on some 90’s music, poured myself some champagne, and got busy painting.
To the surprise of absolutely no one: I am not an artist. Like, at all. And this is definitely not an activity I would typically choose if I had an hour of alone time.
