A couple of weeks ago I somehow managed to pull off an incredible surprise Las Vegas trip for Abe’s 40th birthday!
I didn’t realize until we were there how much we needed this time together. I shared a few weeks ago on Instagram that life had been really hard for us. Things have improved since then but we still definitely needed some time together, without the busyness of the kids and work and life. This weekend was the perfect balance of birthday celebration with friends and family and alone time for Abe and I. We had the best time together!

Surprise Las Vegas Trip for Abe’s 40th Birthday
For our first full day in Vegas, we rented a day bed at the Venus Pool at Caesars Palace. The hotel has 7 pools on property, each with different lounge chairs, day beds, or cabana rental options. We chose a day bed (closer to the pool than a cabana and cozier than lounge chairs) and you guys, we had THE BEST TIME! Our concierge, Daniel, and our waitress, Christy, were absolutely amazing. All day long they made sure we had everything we needed and took the best care of us.

We made some friends at the pool and had such a great time chatting and getting to know them. Lucky for us, one couple we met lives about 45 minutes away from us! We are already looking forward to hanging with them soon.
I would definitely recommend a pitcher (or two!) of the blackberry mojito. So yummy and refreshing especially on a hot summer day.

Unfortunately, we had too much fun at the pool Friday afternoon and we missed meeting up with our friends and our dinner reservation for Friday night. It was a rookie mistake spending all day in the sun, drinking yummy cocktails. I am not proud of it but even still, the pool day was definitely my most favorite part of our weekend!
Fortunately, our friends forgave us and we were able to meet up the next day for breakfast and shopping before they had to head back home.
We ate breakfast at Cafe Americano at Caesars Palace. The food was so good! Even if you don’t stay at Caesars, you should absolutely get breakfast here.
After we said goodbye to one group of friends, I had another friend scheduled to arrive to surprise Abe. We hung out with Josh for a bit before heading over to Fremont Stree to meet up with even more surprise friends!
We had the best time gambling and hanging out with our friends and family. Pizza Rock Las Vegas, just a few minutes walk from Fremont Street, was so delicious!

We had the most amazing weekend! So many special friends showed up to surprise Abe and celebrate with us. Out of all of our Vegas trips, this one was by far my favorite!
I need that mojito pitcher in my life. When is it happening?!
