Preschool Toys for Learning

I mentioned on Instagram several weeks ago that I am working on adding some preschool curriculum into our days at home with Audrey. I am still working out the kinks and figuring out the best schedule and routine for us. When I get all of that in place, I’ll share more about what we do each day and which curriculum we use. Until then, I wanted to share some of our favorite preschool toys for learning.

PRESCHOOL TOYS FOR LEARNING

All of these toys are really great to have at home for your kids. Whether you’re doing a homeschool curriculum with your preschooler or not, these toys are awesome! I find these are great toys to pull out when you need your child to play independently for a bit. I like to bring the dot markers and some construction paper to the kitchen island for Audrey to make pictures while I cook dinner, for example.

Counting and Sorting Manipulatives: These are super cute and can be used in so many different ways. They can be used to sort, for counting, to teach patterns, and so much more! Sometimes we’ll use different tongs or scoops to make sorting a little more challenging. This is one of those toys I can bring out for Audrey to play with independently when I need to get something done.

Alphabet and Numer Flashcard Puzzles: This flashcard puzzle set really surprised me. First, the colors are beautiful. The box it comes in is sturdy and seems like it will hold up to little impatient hands opening and closing it over and over. And the cards and letters themselves are really good quality, too. The color of the letter matches the color on the flashcard to make it a bit easier for your kiddo to match up. And, another neat little bonus- on the back of the flashcards, it shows the correct order to form the letters when writing.

Dot Markers: These are a big hit with Audrey. She likes to use them freely with construction paper. I also found tons of dot markers worksheets on Pinterest.
