Noah’s First Day of Preschool

This week my baby boy started his first year of preschool!

Where does the time go? I swear he was just learning how to walk and talk.

Now he’s about to be 4 years old and is just the sweetest little boy. He is such a good friend and he is so smart.

Noah has been so ready for school for a few months now. I was kind of putting it off because I wasn’t sure I was ready but the more he’s at home with me, the more I see he desperately wants to be at school with friends.

I was happy to find a Christian preschool not too far from us with an opening for Noah. The schedule works perfectly with Connor’s school drop off time and after touring the class and meeting the teacher, I knew it would be a good fit for Noah.

Monday morning Noah was up bright and early asking “Mommy, is it Monday? Do I get to go to school today?”. He was so happy when I told him yes! We quickly ate breakfast and got ready before hopping in the car to drop off Connor and then make our way to Noah’s school.

We arrived a few minutes early to make sure I had time to snap a few photos before class officially started. Noah being the sweet boy he is, totally allowed me to take tons of photos and gave me lots of silly faces and a few nice ones, too.

As soon as the door opened to his classroom he walked right in and put his stuff away before quickly bolting for the back door to the playground. I was lucky I got a tiny kiss before he was off for the slides.

I tried but couldn’t hold back my tears as I made my way out of the building. His confidence and bravery made me feel proud but I also miss him being my baby.

The playground faces the parking lot so I stopped by for another quick goodbye and a few photos. That sweet boy just fills my heart! I felt so proud as I heard him tell his new friend “That’s my mommy over there!”.

The three hours he was at school went by quickly even though I was really missing him. I was happy to pick him up and hear all about his day. He told me about the songs they sang and the crafts they made. He was happy to discover he had homework- “Just like Connor, Mommy!” 🙂 He was pretty tired the rest of the day so I think I might be able to get a nap out of him!

Today is his second day of school and he was just as excited as the first day!

We are so happy to have Noah in preschool and look forward to seeing all he will learn over the next few months.

I keep asking but no one seems to know how to make time slow down a bit. Anyone know how to do this? How can we keep our babies little for just a little longer?
