Time for Noah’s update!
Noah absolutely LOVES school. If he had it his way, he’d go to school all day every day! I am so happy with his school and how much he is learning. His teachers are amazing and he has made some really sweet friends and just loves to be at school with them.
Noah makes friends wherever we go. He is the first one to ask “what’s your name?” and will jump right in to whatever the other kids are doing. He’s sweet to remember to introduce his brother to his new friends and include him in the fun.
He has been telling me for a couple weeks that he wants to learn how to read. He knows the alphabet and the sounds each letter makes (thanks to Leap Frog Letter Factory!) so I think we will start working on sounding out words. We started with the same BOB Books we used with Connor a couple nights ago. He expected to learn how to read after reading one book so he was pretty frustrated to discover it’ll take more than reading a book once to learn how to read. Sorry, kid!
He is a really great big brother. He’s absolutely obsessed with Audrey and wants to help me and be near her constantly. Unlike Connor, talking to Audrey comes super natural to Noah. She smiles so big for him and Noah loves to keep tally of all the smiles she gives him each day. “Oh mommy, she just smiled again! That’s 18 smiles today!” I’m really excited to see their relationship grow.
This kid is so active! I tell people all the time he is like a puppy- he cannot be in the house for too long or he will destroy something. He has ripped up books, put stickers all over the bathroom walls, drawn on everything other than paper, and peed on/in things other than the toilet. He gets bored inside the house so easily and gets himself into trouble. But, take this kid to a playground, park, or the library and he can entertain himself for hours. He is loving play-doh, magna tiles and tangrams and will usually play with these independently for a while.
He recently had a growth spurt and is suddenly looking taller and older. I definitely miss my baby! I cannot believe how much he has grown in the past 6 months. He has the silliest conversations and I often have to remind myself that he is only 4! He seems so old sometimes.
I love that he says Audrey is fuzzy when he really means fussy and I love when he calls her bib a boob. 🙂 He has been practicing for the Christmas program at school and is still singing “We wish it was Merry Christmas and a Happy New Ear” just like he did last year and I absolutely do not want to correct him! He also says “her” instead of she. “Aw. Hers so cute!” Another thing I wont correct. It’s too cute and I know I’ll miss it when he says it the right way.
Noah is so much fun and so smart. He keeps me on my toes and tests my patients daily, sometimes hourly, but honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way!
