Hey guys! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend! We didn’t have much planned this weekend and it was kinda nice to hang at home. We fit in some fun family time and definitely a lot of rest.
Friday afternoon Connor had a second grade playdate planned at a splash pad near school. I picked Noah up from his school a bit early and grabbed some lunch for him and Connor before heading over to play!
It’s still super hot here in Phoenix and I was worried about bringing Audrey outside with us. I kept her in the shade and used this fan and she actually stayed pretty cool! I was surprised how well it worked.
The boys had so much fun playing in the water and loved visiting the ice cream truck! I really love how much effort the parents put in to getting the kids together outside of school. It’s fun for our kids to play together outside of their busy days in the classroom and I know the parents really enjoy the time we get to chat. I have said it before, but I really love Connor’s school and all the friends we have made.
We spent most of Saturday just hanging around the house. We are almost a month into our “screen time detox” (no iPads or TV) so we have to work extra hard to keep the kids occupied. We played some board games, took naps, and got in some math practice.
Even though we aren’t allowing the boys to have TV or iPads right now (long story that I can share later if you’d like. But basically- my kids are obsessed with the iPads and we just had to get rid of them.) I do allow them to occasionally practice their math skills on IXL.
Sister got in a good nap after getting completely milk drunk 🙂 (my favorite nursing pillow)
And some post-nap snuggles from her big brother. These two are the sweetest friends. Noah is so in love with his sister.
Thankfully Abe was up for a trip to Costco. I need his help lifting the cases of water and its just easier having him with me. Although, for some reason- when Abe comes, our Costco budget suddenly goes out the window! That boy likes his snacks 😉
After church on Sunday we went to my parents house for a family BBQ. We haven’t all been together in a couple months and a lot of the family still hadn’t met Audrey. The boys loved swimming with Papa and Abe loved winning the corn hole tournament that my sister put together.
The rest of the weekend was spent getting ready for the week. Laundry, meal planning, packing lunches and trying to nap here and there. Sister has been having a hard time sleeping the past couple days so this mama is T-I-R-E-D!
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend.
