Happy 10th Birthday, Connor! I cannot believe my firstborn is ten! Double digits! It seems like just yesterday I was checking into the hospital to deliver Connor. I remember being so scared to be a mom. I was so young. And I was so excited to finally hold my baby boy in my arms.
Now 10 years later, I have a bit more confidence in my abilities as a mom. I am not so young anymore. And while I can’t hold Connor in my arms anymore, I still deeply enjoy the moments we can curl up and snuggle together.

Daddy and I are so proud of you, Connor. I am thankful I get to be your mom. You are so smart, kind, and funny. You are still Star Wars and LEGO obsessed. Bean burritos and orange chicken are your favorite foods. And to no ones surprise, your love for reading has only grown over the last year. You ALWAYS have a book in your hand! I really love that about you.
You worked through some big, hard changes this past year. I know it wasn’t easy, and I know we still have some work to do. But I want you to know I am really proud of how far you have come. Even when the days at school were extra hard and painful, you still held your head high and maintained who you are. I admire how brave and true to yourself you were during those times. I pray you always, always have the confidence to be yourself.
We are looking forward to watching you grow and mature this next year. I am hopeful you’ll find a great group of friends in 5th grade. How could you not- you’re the most social, silly guy I know! And you’re a really great friend. You care so deeply for the people you love. I feel so lucky that I get to see so much of your big, huge heart when you talk to me about your friends.
You have big life goals and I am so excited to see you chase them. I wonder which dream you will go after first. President of the United States? Pastor of the world? Faster runner? Or your newest life goal, a gamer. Whatever you decide on, these dreams or others, I know that when you work hard, you can achieve anything! Daddy and I will be here cheering you on every step of the way!
Happy Birthday, Son. I love you so much.
