FEBRUARY FAVORITES

The most perfect Tee: Guys. I did it. I have found THE MOST PERFECT basic tee. It wears really nicely. It is long enough and just so slightly fitted while still being a little roomy. It is not boxy at all. It washes well. And it is so, so stinking affordable! After buying only one just to try it out, I quickly went back and grabbed 3 more. If you are on the hunt for the perfect tee that you can throw on without even thinking…this is the tee for you!

Dry Shampoo: I started using this over the summer last year and I quickly fell in love. It’s really great as a dry shampoo but I also like to use it on clean hair to add some texture before curling my hair. It helps my curls hold a little better and gives me more volume. When I am on day 2 or 3 dirty hair, I spray it into my roots and let it sit for a couple of minutes before working it in with my fingers. If my hair feels extra dirty, I’ll hit it with the blow dryer after letting it sit. It gives my hair the refresh it needs without having to wash it every day.

Self Tanner: I used this for the first time a few weeks ago for a blog shoot. I am always so nervous when I use self-tanner because I am terrified that the color is going to come out really orange and streaky. I am so happy to report this tanner was neither orange or streaky! This was so easy to use and did not streak at all when applied with this mitt. Because it is a mouse it is a lot lighter and easier to work with than a gel or thick lotion. It’s pretty forgiving and easy to blend in. I only applied one coat and felt the color looked really natural and beautiful. If you wanted a darker tan, you could definitely apply more layers. I will be using this all spring and summer to get that beautiful bronzed color without the harmful sun exposure.

Jeans: I randomly bought these jeans after I saw them on sale a few weeks ago and I haven’t taken them off since. They are midrise and have a small amount of distressing. They’re comfy and cute and also really affordable. They are on sale today so grab yourself a pair!

Chapstick: This is THE BEST chapstick for really dry lips. It is so creamy and really hydrating and feels so good on. I have bought so many of these and can never be without them! Abe loves it and we also use it on the boys when their lips are chapped from the dry, cold weather. This chapstick is a little pricy but it’s totally worth it. Apparently, its also supposed to help with fine lines in your lips.

Iced coffee & Creamer: For Rachel Hollis’ last 90 days I decided to give up Starbucks lattes. I chose this for a few reasons. Not only is it crazy expensive- almost $6 per day x 7 days a week x lots of weeks in a row + a random afternoon pick me up + cake pops or treats if I have the kids with me = a ton of money! I also realized how much time I was wasting waiting in the drive-thru line. And of course, the sweeteners and other stuff that makes Starbucks lattes so delicious aren’t really the best for me. So, I decided it was time to give up the drive-thru and start making my coffee at home. I don’t like hot coffee (I always burn my mouth! I can see my friend Jane and my husband rolling their eyes so hard at me right now. Ha!) so I buy the Starbucks Iced Coffee in the jug and this almond milk creamer from the grocery store. Before you get on me about “But I thought you were giving up coffee?”…No! I gave up ordering lattes with all the added crap. Making this at home I know I am only drinking coffee and almond milk creamer, no extra sweetener and sugar. I am saving time because I don’t have to go anywhere for it. And I am saving money. This only costs me about $10 a week! It sounds so crazy to say I haven’t had a Starbucks latte since September 30th!

Facebook Messenger Video Chat: Abe doesn’t have an iPhone (so annoying!) so we recently started video chatting on Facebook Messenger. It’s been so cute to see Audrey get so excited to see Abe during the day on a quick video call. The filters you can add during the call are so funny! Abe is really good about checking in with me throughout the day. The laughs we get from the silly filters help me get through the crazy afternoon with my animals. Try it! It will cheer you up, I promise!
