During this time of year, life can get really busy. Between holiday parties, the boys’ school events, holiday shopping and prepping, and just everyday life, I can get caught up in our busy to-do list and start to feel really overwhelmed. I get really focused on getting things done and making sure we are ready for the weekend’s events that I sometimes need to remind myself to just slow down. During this busy season especially, I try to be more intentional with my time with my family. Making my kids a priority is important to me so I look for opportunities to have quality time with them on a regular basis.
One of the easiest ways to get my kids super excited is to mention the words “family movie night”! This simple, at-home activity is the perfect way to get in our quality time and make special memories together.
Today I am sharing how we enjoy a family movie night at home.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
POPCORN BOWL | POPCORN CONTAINER SET | SERVING TRAY | MINI GLASS CANDY BOWLS
If you ask the boys and me, one of the most important parts of family movie night is obviously the snacks! I fill these cute popcorn bowls and containers with popcorn and set out a few different candy options. We each make our own snack containers and find a cozy spot on the couch to watch a movie together.
This particular night we are watching Hocus Pocus. Some of our other favorite fall-themed movies for family movie night are:
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Toy Story of Terror
- Scared Shrekless
- Hotel Transylvania
- Casper
- Ghostbusters
- It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
I know the boys won’t want to hang out on the couch watching movies with us for much longer so I am soaking up these special moments we have together.
