Connor’s Kindergarten Promotion

Yesterday we celebrated all that Connor & his classmates have accomplished over the school year during their Kindergarten Promotion ceremony. I cannot believe he is already (almost) done with his first year of school!

The promotion ceremony was short but oh so sweet! The kids behaved wonderfully and performed their songs so nicely.

In these moments I am so thankful for smart phones! Noah was frustrated and on the verge of a meltdown just seconds before the ceremony started. Abe busted out some Angry Birds on his phone and Noah was happy again.

I didn’t get the best photos and I’m kinda kicking myself in the butt for not bringing my “nice” camera. I really wanted to focus on being present and take in the moment so I made the decision not to bring the camera. These photos aren’t horrible…but I know they would be much better quality had I brought the good camera. Oh well. Lesson learned.

When the students got onto the stage they sang a couple songs and then got their Promotion Certificates!

Then they all got into a line and were handed a single rose. The students were then allowed to give the rose to their teacher to thank them for all they have done throughout the year. The teachers have been so amazing and supportive to all of the children. We are so thankful to have been blessed with such a special teaching team for our sons first year of school.

This poor girl! Connor really wanted her to smell that rose!

After the ceremony the students were dismissed to the picnic area for lunch and lemonade & cookies with their friends. It was fun to chat with some of the other parents while our kiddos ate lunch and played together on the field. I know I have said it a million times, and I’ll say it a million more; Connor goes to school with some really great kids who have pretty awesome parents! It’s been fun to get to know them.

We will miss Mrs. Garretson so much this summer! She has been above & beyond amazing to Connor. We are so thankful for all of her effort and love that she has poured into our son. She is a really special teacher with the biggest heart for all of her students.

It was a really great morning filled with many emotions. I did my best at holding it together but it was hard! I think about all that my sweet 5-year-old has gone through in such a short period of time and I am just filled with pride! This guy makes us so proud and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for him.
