Connor’s 100th day of school is this Friday! I can’t believe it’s already been 100 days since he started kindergarten.
Over the weekend his teacher assigned the students a special project to begin celebrating their 100th day of school. For this project the students had to glue 100 items of their choice to a piece of paper.
I’m not super crafty so of course I went over to Pinterest to find some fun ideas.
I selected a few that I thought would be fun for Connor and something that he could do almost all on his own. After he looked over the choices, we decided on a monster with 100 googly eyes!
We went to Hobby Lobby to gather our supplies.
Sunday morning Connor & I started putting together our monster.
First, I had Connor count out 10 sets of 10 eyeballs so we could
keep track of how many we were glueing on to our monster.
I drew the outline of the monster and Connor colored him in.
Little brother was right beside him to offer encouragement 🙂
After the monster was all colored in, we got busy glueing on 100 googly eyes!
And….Ta Da!
There you have it. Connor’s 100th Day of School project is complete.
We were both very proud of how the final project turned out!
While I was looking at Pinterest I saw some other fun things that I wanted to do with Connor & Noah during the week leading up to the big day! Connor loves counting by 10’s and we are working on mastering counting by 5’s so I thought stringing together 100 fruit loops would give him good practice! I also found a very basic 100th Day of School coloring sheet for the boys to color.
I am so glad his teacher is recognizing this exciting day with the students. It’s such a fun way to celebrate all the amazing things the students have accomplished so far in their first 100 days of school!
