With Audrey being our last baby, I always struggle with what kind of gifts to buy her. I don’t like having a ton of toys all over the house and I know that kids can grow out of toys quickly. So I try to be really intentional with the toys we buy. Luckily, I have found some good toy ideas so today I am sharing my Christmas gift guide for toddlers.

GIFT GUIDE FOR TODDLERS
Button Art: Start children’s puzzle game by matching mushroom nails to illustrator pattern cards. Then move on to create unique designs by only using the pegboard! It encourages children to improve their imagination and fine motor skills, can improve hand-eye coordination, color recognition, imagination, and early patterning and sequencing ability.
Matching Game: This one is obviously for older toddler-preschool-aged kids but with some modification, this can definitely be played with by a 2-year-old. My boys loved (and still do love) matching games and we started with matching games just like this one.
4-in-1 Chunky Puzzle Set: This puzzle set is great because it comes with 4 chunky puzzles, each with a different level of difficulty. Progressive puzzles with 4, 6, 9, and 12 pieces grow with your child. My boys had something similar when they were younger. Connor put the puzzle together over and over and I bet that’s why he is so good at puzzles now.
Wooden Chunky Puzzle: Another fun puzzle option.
Count the Dino Book: I LOVE these books. They have tons of different options and the few that we have are all so much fun! This one, in particular, says: “There are a whopping 17 picture-packed puzzles in this book. Some focus on counting a particular attribute (i.e. all the dinosaurs with spots), while a number of puzzles ask you to count two sets of different colored dinosaurs to work out which outnumbers the other. A perfect book for little learners. They’ll develop observational skills, apply numbers to objects and they’ll be having so much fun they won’t even know they’re learning!” At this age, I have noticed Audrey enjoys more interactive books rather than just me reading to her. I Spy Everything is another great option.
Basketball and Teeball Set: Audrey is OBSESSED with Noah’s basketball hoop. She always asks us to hold her up so that she can “shoot it”.
Twin Babies: It has been so much fun to watch Audrey care for her babies. I like this set of twin babies for a toddler’s first baby doll. “Luke and Lucy have adorable coordinating removable rompers and caps, eyes that open and close, and they can suck their thumbs or the included pacifiers.”
Baby Stroller: This stroller is really cute and got good reviews. We have a cheap stroller that quickly ripped so I am excited for Audrey to have a stroller that can actually hold her babies.
Play Kitchen: My parents bought Audrey this kitchen for her 2nd birthday. It is so cute! I love that it isn’t a huge eyesore so you could keep it near the kitchen without it looking super obnoxious. This toy is one of our most played with toys when friends come over. It was really easy to assemble and has held up nicely.
Magnet Tiles: It would not be a This Familee gift guide if I didn’t mention magnet tiles! I love giving these as gifts. They’re one of the most played with toys in our house, in our Sunday School classroom, and among all my friend’s kids. They’re really fun and the possibilities are endless. I think this is another toy that will grow with your toddler. There are so many ways to play with magnet tiles and so many things to learn from them. ” Children can acquire a strong sense of color, geometrical shapes including 3D forms, numbers counts, magnetic polarities & architectural design at an early age.” They’re so, so good!
3-Wheel Scooter: This has really good reviews.
LEGO Duplos Set: Another favorite in our house. We especially love the My Town sets because they are so interactive and can add on to other sets.
Frozen LEGO Duplo Set: I love that Audrey is really into Spider-Man but also starting to get into princesses.
Bounce House: I have had my eye on this for a couple of years now. Kids can jump, slide and bounce in this Little Tikes Jump ‘n Slide inflatable bouncer. A fun, bouncy house design offers a large area for several children and a fun slide. The Jump ’n Slide Bouncer will inflate in minutes and folds compactly for easy storage. I think this would be an awesome toy to bring out for playdates. If you have a large area inside, it would be perfect for the days that are too hot (AZ summers) or too cold to play outside.
