Children’s Museum of Phoenix

Finding things to do while staying out of the AZ heat in the summer can be a challenge.

But one of the things we love to do the most is visit the Children’s Museum of Phoenix.

I am more and more impressed with this place after each time I visit.

The Children’s Museum is so well thought out and very well designed to be fun for babies, toddlers, and even the older kids.

One of my most favorite things about the museum is at just about every exhibit, there is something a bit smaller and totally safe for the babies or toddlers to enjoy. This is especially helpful for moms like myself who bring two (or more if they are really brave!) kiddos of different ages to the museum by herself.

I love that when we went several months ago (before Noah could walk) that I didn’t have to keep him strapped in a stroller the entire time Connor played, because he can enjoy so much as well!

Now that Noah is walking and a little older, he enjoys the bigger exhibits with his brother!

I love watching them play, learn, explore, and challenge themselves together! CM1.jpg

The Noodle Forest is one of Connor’s favorite exhibits. Looks like Noah likes it, too!

This is inside The Climber. This is such a great exhibit for Connor. It really encourages gross motor development.

How cute does this little guy look on a teeny tiny bike?!

Going through the trike wash!

Just doing a little grocery shopping in The Market. Tip- go later in the day and your kiddo should have no problem getting a shopping cart. The mornings are super busy at the museum and this is usually the most popular spot for some of the older kids.

This is a small  isolated area in The Market. It has soft carpet and plush toys. They even have Bumbo seats and Boppys! This is where the babies can hang out while the older kids grocery shop.

Other things to note about the museum:

It is super clean. I don’t feel grossed out about letting my boys play. Of course we wash hands before and after visiting, but it is really really clean!

The staff are super friendly and engaging with the kids. They encourage them to try something they may be a little scared to try and praise them when they do it.

They allow you to bring in your own food. If you plan to spend your day at the museum (which you totally should!) you can pack a lunch for your kiddos. Or if you just want to spend the morning there but want to make sure the kids eat before they fall asleep in the car on the way home, bring your lunch! Or, they have a super cute cafe with some tasty options.

The Children’s Museum recently expanded and designed an outdoor exhibit called Move it! Because it is so (sooooooooooooo) hot here, we have yet to try it out but cannot wait! I know it will not disappoint.

Let me know if you visit the museum! I know you and your kids will LOVE it!

Thanks for stopping by. What do you and your family do during the hot months?
