Fall Activities

We had big plans for Fall this year! The boys and I spent some time writing out a Fall Bucket List with all the fun things we wanted to do. We know and expect this time of year to be busy and it just gets busier as we get closer to Christmas. But as I mentioned before, being intentional with our time and making memories with my kids is important to me. Creating this list is a way for me to be present and plan for these special activities with my family.

We didn’t get to do everything on our bucket list but here are some of our favorite fall activities!

Fall Break Staycation

At the very last minute, the kids and I decided to take a few day staycation to celebrate fall break. We went to the aquarium and the train park. And we had dinner with our cousins and ate tons of yummy food! It ended up being a ton of fun and something we will likely do each year.

State Fair

We have been going to the St. Lukes Oktoberfest for as long as I can remember. My parents used to tell us this was the State Fair. So now, of course, we tell our kids its the state fair! The carnival isn’t anything special but we have so many fun memories from this place. Like my Aunt Nancy spending almost $100 to win me a goldfish almost 20 years ago. And this past year Uncle Ryan and Aunt Michelle spending almost as much as Aunt Nancy did to win Connor and Noah goldfish!

Pumpkin Patch

For the first time ever we visited the Macdonalds Ranch Pumpkin Patch. Abe had to work at the hospital that day so it was just the kids and I. We had a great time getting faces painted, riding bikes, mining for gold, and of course picking out pumpkins! This ranch was super fun and we will absolutely be back next year!

Pumpkin Painting

We were so bummed that we didn’t have a free weekend this year to host our Pumpkin Painting Party. So the boys and I spent a quick hour outside painting our pumpkins while Audrey napped. We really missed having a party so we are going to make sure we make it happen next year!

Trick or Treating

We had so much fun trick or treating with our neighbors Kiel and Liz and their sweet boys.

Bri’s Wedding

One thing that was not on our original bucket list but definitely needs to be included in this post is my cousin’s wedding! My cousin Bri got married earlier this month and it was an amazing four days of family and friends celebrating together!

We had an amazing several weeks with family and friends and I think we made some really special memories. The boys are and I are really looking forward to the next couple of months and all the fun that the Christmas season brings.

I hope you all have a great week and a very Happy Thanksgiving!
