37 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 37 weeks exactly!
Symptoms: I am feeling really, really tired. Lots of back pain and (I think?) Braxton Hicks contractions. I woke up a couple days ago with pretty severe belly pain that continued throughout the day. I’m not sure if it’s true contractions though because there isn’t an obvious start & stop to the pain. It just seems like all day long pain. I’m not sure if I’ve ever really felt true contractions in the 3 times I’ve been pregnant? I am also super tired. I nap almost every day for at least 45 minutes and I am in bed by 9ish. Oh and my feet hurt so bad! No idea why but they are so sore. No swelling yet just achy feet.
Total weight gain: I have gained 25 pounds so far. I was really hoping to only gain 20-25 pounds this pregnancy but I will be happy if I stay under the recommended 30 pound max. My doctor tells me at every appointment to stop worrying about the weight gain and reassures me that I am gaining an appropriate amount.
Maternity clothes? Yup.
Stretch Marks: Same as last update- a few new ones. Trying not to let it get to me. Not much I can do about it.
Are you showing yet?: Oh my goodness! I feel so huge this past week! I don’t realize how much my belly sticks out and I am constantly running into the corner of the kitchen counters or walls. So yeah, I’m showing!
Wedding Rings on or off?: On but I do notice them getting tighter on days where I don’t drink as much water. As long as I am good about my water intake my rings fit just fine.
Sleep: Sleep…Oh I really miss sleep. I am awake a lot throughout the night either due to crazy dreams or needing to roll to the other side. I also have a hard time breathing when I am in bed so that’s super fun.
Movement: Tons of movement. Her flips and kicks or whatever she’s doing inside there is getting much more painful. I thought for sure she’d be running out of room but she is not letting that slow her down. Sister is crazy!
Miss Anything? Good sleep. I also miss my regular clothes. I can’t wait to be “skinny” again!
Cravings: Costco cake. So random but so delicious. Still craving cold salads & fruits.
Best moment: We had three baby showers a couple weeks ago. Three!! My mom and sister put together a shower with my aunts & cousins, Abe’s office threw us one & my sweet girlfriends at church also threw us one. I was insisting on not even needing one but so many people are so excited and spoiled us and our baby girl. I really felt so special and thankful to all of our friends and family.
I am also really excited to officially be in the month of July- her birth month. We are getting so close!
Looking forward to: Having this sweet girl in my arms. I was asked at one of the baby showers what I am most excited for and I said the first few days at home with our daughter. You know, when all you have to do is feed the baby and rest. You are still filled with so much love and joy and cannot yet believe this baby is yours. The true fatigue hasn’t really set in yet. The middle of the night feeds are so special. That. That is what I am looking so forward to!
What do the boys think?: The boys are excited. Connor is bummed we couldn’t take a summer vacation this year but they are both really getting excited to see their sister. They are also excited for a sleep over and Grandma and Papas house while we’re in the hospital.
I had a checkup this week and it was confirmed baby girl is still breech. I assumed she would be but was kinda hoping she would have flipped. It really doesn’t matter too much since I am having a scheduled c-section but I am worried about her hips. I have googled images of babies born breech (don’t do it! It’s scary!) and their poor little legs are all the way up by their ears! I am a little terrified of that if I am being honest.
We are counting down the days and crossing off the last minutes things on our to-do list but before we know it- sister will be here! I cannot wait!
